Conceria La Perla Azzurra makes some of the nicest leather in the world; especially when it comes to veg tanned cowhide.  Missouri is up there with the best.  It’s a new favorite in the shop, and we’re incredibly proud to be able to share it with you.

Missouri is medium-firm, vacchetta-based leather, so it’s hot stuffed with just the right amount of fats and oils to give the flesh a moderately dense consistency without feeling greasy.  The grain is treated with a healthy amount of wax, which provides water resistance, a good grip when holding it, and the base for Missouri’s medium-bright sheen.  The combination of the hot stuffing blend and the wax gives the leather a heavier, substantial feel and a great pull-up!  Finally, the leather is milled (a.k.a. tumbled) while it’s still thick, which results in a very pronounced and natural looking pebbled grain.

Burnishing is a breeze, and It’s very easy to achieve a smooth, glossy edge.  And, if you order it at full weight (5.0-5.5oz), you’ll experience some of the nicest finished flesh in the game.

At full weight, Missouri has enough body to hold its own as unlined/unstructured totes and other types of bags, as well as other items like sunglass cases, single layer watch straps, lanyards, key fobs, purse straps etc.  Split to 3.5-4oz, it’s fantastic for wallet exteriors and interiors.  We don’t recommend dipping below 2.5oz for most applications.

Missouri is offered in double shoulder form.  So, it’s likely that there will be some natural striation and possibly some minimal range marks through the chest area of the hide.  Additionally, the size and amount of grain pebbling may vary in different areas of the hide, and may also vary from hide-to-hide. 

GRADING:

– Grade A – Great quality, very little to no flaws beside what is mentioned above.

– Grade B – Not-so-perfect – will have more noticeable range marks or scratches, broken grain, or slight color variation over a small portion of the panel.
